Rehabilitation Counsellor:  Graduate Program

We have a well-developed Rehabilitation Counsellor Graduate Program where each year a graduate RC is able to get their career off to a flying start. Through structured support and supervision focusing on evidence-based reasoning, Mend supports graduates to make a difference early in their careers.  We work in both workplace and community settings across multiple jurisdictions including NDIS, Comcare and WorkSafe.

Mend has an extensive and supportive training program.  Supervision is a key component within the organisation, as well as ongoing skill development, peer support, training and ASORC Membership.

The Role

Through strong and consistent supervision, the role will include:

 Communication and negotiation with all stakeholders

  • Develop tailored recover at work programs that ensure client’s realise the health benefits of work
  • Managing complex injuries utilising counselling skills (rather than treatment)
  • Conduct Vocational/Transferable skills assessments
  • Assist with job seeking/job placement
  • Same and different employer case management

 What you will need to succeed

 A commitment to feedback to enable growth as an allied health professional

  • Commitment to evidence based practice
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Rehabilitation Counselling
  • National Police clearance
  • A current NSW driver's licence
  • The right to work in Australia
