Make sure you are well known about the work rights as an international student in Australia. Generally, international students with a valid student visa can work up to 40 hours per fortnight. A workweek in Australia is considered to be Monday through the following Sunday. Employers also want the candidate who has all the information and understanding of job and company which will also reduce the training sessions.

Tip: Rather than using “To whom it may concern” use LinkedIn or study team profile to find the person who will receive your application and address formally to them.

Address Job Description Carefully:

Your job application should address each job description and fulfill its requirements. Your full details like name, social media handles, image, contact details, email address with a personal statement should be mentioned sensibly. To satisfy your accountabilities you can present your previous work history, skills, experiences and training certificates. Likewise, your education qualification and background should be addressed properly from latest to oldest. Don’t forget to add references. References are the most important part of your resume.

Attractive Resume and Cover Letter

As in the previous point, your resume should contain your job experiences, skills, knowledge and personal information starting with the most recent. Make sure you keep the descriptions short, to the point and relevant to the job you are applying for. Best will be if you can add your own unique but professional layout format so that it won’t look like others. Similarly, the cover letter should be clear, concise and readable. It should not be more than a page. The letter should direct to the responsible employer describing a bit about yourself explaining why you would like to work with the prospecting employer and why you are fit for the job.
